Barcelona Season Send-Off

My final race weekend of the season kicked off in what seems to be classic Barcelona fashion just as last year—wet, tricky, but once again very fun. FP1 was wet, and I actually enjoyed riding and finding grip as the track got better and better each lap. My pace dipped a bit in the afternoon and through the Friday sessions but overall the feeling was still good and i was getting faster.

Saturday morning session was going well until a touch of brake fade which was not ideal, but nothing too dramatic. I did have to pit once though, and that resulted in me having to leave the group that i was staying with at the time. Then came qualifying. Unfortunately once again I had almost complete brake failure. I had to come into the pits, and not really getting a proper lap in resulted in me qualifying at the back.

Race: Way more fun than my qualifying result suggested. I had a great launch, but someone stalled right in front of me and I had to brake, losing loads of position that i gained and ended up last into T1. After that, I settled in and had a great battle with two other riders, exactly the kind of wheel-to-wheel fun you want to end a season on.

After 3 amazing but tough seasons, I just want to send a massive thank you to my team Ilusion racing for the past three years and to all my sponsors for their support. Couldn’t have done any of it without you.
