RD 2 of the FIM World Junior Championship held at specially designed MOTOGP circuit Ricardo Tormo just a few KM’s from the city of Valencia Spain. A circuit familiar to all the riders including Kyle meaning the time sheets would be tighter than ever. Over night rain meant the track was still damp in places for FP1 Thursday morning but Kyle managed to navigate the super thin dry line successfully setting a very respectable 1 min 46.3 sec. FP 2 the track fully dry and another step forward setting a best lap of 1 min 45.3 secs
Kyle had a different challenge this weekend in the form of his Math’s GSCE exam so a 12 hour round trip home to France meant Kyle was unable to take part in timed practice on Friday meaning saving everything for Saturday qualifying.
During Saturdays qualifying Kyle continued to find improvements ending the day with a time of 1min 44.9 secs just .1 sec from his fastest ever lap of the circuit and resulting in a P14 grid position for his race Sunday morning.
With the sun out and plenty of positive encouragement from his team Kyle made a solid start making up 2 places in the first few turns, settling into P12 after the mayhem that is the first lap. Kyle then set his sights on moving forward and proceeded to make progress throughout the race finishing in P8 his best European Talent cup finish to date, setting a personal best lap time by over .5 seconds of 1 min 44.4 secs and the 2nd fastest lap of the race.
Next stop French Championship in just one week at circuit Ledenon where Kyle is determined to be fighting for the top 3 positions.
